Happy New Year Fellow Bassists!  We’re very excited to have an exceptional lineup of events: 

February 26, Sunday 2 pm Wyoming Fine Arts Center – Own Lee will be introducing us to the 3 new bassists at CSO: Stephen Jones Assistant Principal. Luis Celis, and Gerald Tores. They will perform two selections with principal Owen Lee: From Mahler to Motor Head! Plus, there will be a Q and A and perhaps some orchestra repertoire coaching. Refreshments will be served. We will ask for RSVPs to get a general idea of the number of attendees.

March 5, Sunday 1:00 – 5:30 at Princeton H.S:  Bass Day for HS students or advanced junior high schoolers sponsored by the Baroque Violin Shop. Clinicians will be from the BCC Board. Special guests will include Cleveland Institute’s and Oberlin College professor Tracy Rowell and OSU jazz bass teacher Milton Ruffin. Barry Green will hold a session for Bass teachers. Breakout clinics will be conducted by Debbie Taylor, Steve Ullery, Peter McCutcheon and others TBA.Student registration and consent forms online for download.

March 18, Saturday location 11:00 a.m.:  Acclaimed Bassist James VanDemark, Professor of Double Bass at the Eastman School of Music will conduct a master class with some advanced students.  There will also be a Q & A for attendees. Location will be announced soon.

April 8, Saturday, 1-3 pm Wyoming Fine Arts Center:  World class Bass teacher Tom Martin will perform and coach a select group of students. Anyone interested in performing for James VanDemark, Tom Martin,  or the new CSO bassists, please contact Vicki Moseley at: [email protected]

Looking to the fall, we plan to have Carl Anderson and Rudy Albach be our special guests.
